What a residential locksmith actually does
Most people meet a locksmith on the worst day of their week — locked out, key snapped, or a door that suddenly won’t shut. The job is usually smaller than it feels, and the right approach is almost always the least destructive one.
Beyond emergencies, a lot of residential work is quieter and worth more: rekeying after you move in so the previous owner’s keys stop working, fitting a deadlock to a back door that only has a latch, or putting locks on the windows nobody has thought about since the house was built.
Why we don’t do cars or commercial
Automotive locksmithing is a different trade with different equipment, and commercial work runs on master key systems and access control that homes simply don’t use.
If you ring us about a car key we’ll tell you straight away rather than send someone who can’t help. It costs you five minutes instead of an afternoon.

Do you work on apartments and units?
Yes. Apartments sometimes have restricted key systems controlled by the body corporate, which we’ll talk through with you — but the lock on your own front door is ours to work on.
Are you available at night?
We take emergency residential work around the clock. Enter your suburb when you check a price and the site will show you what’s genuinely available.
Tell us about the job
Answer what you can — anything you are unsure of, leave it. Your locksmith reads it and texts you a price, usually within the hour during business hours.
Priced by the job, not by the hour — the figure you approve is the figure you pay for the job as described.*
