Home security
One strong door and five weak points
Most homes have a solid front door and very little else. Nobody plans it that way; it’s just where attention goes. A walk around the outside usually turns up two or three things worth fixing and several that aren’t.
Where people actually get in
Rarely the front. It faces the street, it’s overlooked, and it usually has the best lock on the house.
It’s the back door with a latch and no deadlock, the laundry window that doesn’t lock, the side gate that opens onto a fence nobody can see over, and the internal garage door treated as though it isn’t a door into your house.
What we look at
Every way in: front and back doors, windows, the garage, the gate, and how the doors sit in their frames. A good lock in a rotten jamb is not a good lock.
We’ll also tell you what not to bother with. Some upgrades cost real money and change very little.
In an order that makes sense
You don’t have to do everything at once, and most people shouldn’t. There’s usually a clear first job, a sensible second, and a list that can wait.
You get that list either way — whether we do the work or you do it yourself later.

Common questions
Do you install alarms or cameras?
No — we’re locksmiths, and we stick to physical security: locks, doors, windows and gates. If you need electronic monitoring we’ll say so plainly rather than pretend otherwise.
Is it worth doing if I rent?
Often yes, though anything permanent needs your landlord’s agreement. Window locks and a rekey are usually straightforward; a new deadlock needs a conversation first.
Get a price for your home security upgrade
Answer what you can — anything you are unsure of, leave it. Your locksmith reads it and texts you a price, usually within the hour during business hours.
Priced by the job, not by the hour — the figure you approve is the figure you pay for the job as described.*
*If your locksmith arrives and the job turns out genuinely different from what you told us — a different lock, extra doors, damage nobody mentioned — you get a plain explanation and a new figure before any work starts, and you can say no. Anything you haven’t agreed to is never charged.
